Yosemite for the Eleventh Time

Yes yes yes, the title may seem crazy but it's true!

I have been going to Yosemite since I was little. From camping inside the park to staying in a hotel right outside, and taking a class trip while staying in the Curry Village cabins, I've seen it all. We usually go once a year in the fall for Veterans day, but over the past couple of years, that has changed because of busy schedules and other conflicts.

We actually just recently went again; for my parents the first time in two years. I went last year on a class trip, so it hasn't been that long for me. This time around, we stayed in El Portal at the Yosemite View Lodge. We usually stay there when we take a weekend trip mainly because the service is pretty good and the rooms are nice. This time we didn't get the best room, but we only stayed for two nights.

So this year, we ended up going into the park for only a day. But it was a great one. There was lots of snow and it was beautiful. We had known before going into the park it had snowed, but we didn't realize there was so much. I definitely recommend going to Yosemite in the winter. While yes it's cold, it's insanely beautiful and you can get a good snowman in.

All we did was walk around the valley floor and enjoy a nice lunch that we got from one of the local grocery stores in the park. It was quite cold, but once the sun came out it was nice. We left a bit early mainly because I had a lot of homework to catch up on and it was also getting close to the time when the sun goes behind the mountains. That's when it gets really cold.

Hopefully -if you haven't already- you can go to Yosemite and see the beautiful sights for yourself.
